The description reads HORIZONTAL VANE BIG, which suggests it's the larger of two vanes on its unit. It's the long blade across the outlet that opens when the unit runs and closes over the opening when it stops. We hold no model list for this number, so check the code before ordering.

Panasonic air con flap cracked or drooping

The horizontal vane steers air up or down as it leaves the indoor unit, aiming it toward the floor for heating or out across the ceiling for cooling. It's moved by the air swing motor through pivots at each end. Being long and thin, it can twist, crack at a pivot or come out of its bearing if it's forced by hand or knocked while the filters are being cleaned. You'll notice a flap that hangs down, won't close, rattles in the airflow, or sits crooked compared with the outlet. Air blowing in the wrong direction makes the room feel uneven.

Part details

Genuine Panasonic part CWE24C1513

Large (big) horizontal vane

For Panasonic split system indoor units

No model list on file, check the part number on the old vane

Fitting a new horizontal vane

Isolate the power first.
