Keeping a stainless steel cooktop clean
Stainless steel cooktops show every splash, fingerprint and boil-over, and food that is left to cook onto the surface can be hard to shift. Using a product designed for stainless steel, along with a soft cloth, is gentler than scourers, steel wool or abrasive powders, which can leave scratches that hold dirt. Wiping in the direction of the grain gives the most even finish. Burner caps, trivets and enamel parts are a different material, so check the label before using it on them.
