Product details

CF260 is a genuine charcoal filter for Omega rangehoods that are set up to recirculate air back into the kitchen rather than duct it outside. It is listed for hoods such as the CF9BLS and CF6BLS, CG9BL and CG9BLS, CFP9BG, RFT6 and RFT9, RGT6 and RGT9, and the IRI6SE1 and IRI9SE1. Check the number on your current filter or in the rangehood manual to confirm the match.

Why a recirculating rangehood needs a fresh charcoal filter

A ducted rangehood pushes cooking fumes outside, but a recirculating hood has nowhere to send them. The air passes through a grease filter and then a charcoal filter before going back into the room, and the charcoal traps the cooking odours. Over time it becomes saturated, and smells from frying and roasting hang around the kitchen even with the fan on high. A loaded filter also restricts airflow, so the hood sounds busy but pulls less. Replacing the charcoal filter at the interval in your user manual keeps the hood doing its job.

Part details

  • Genuine filter, part number CF260
  • Charcoal type for recirculating (ductless) operation
  • Listed for 16 Omega rangehood models
  • Replace at the interval shown in your rangehood manual

Changing the charcoal filter

Turn the rangehood off at the wall or isolate the circuit, and make sure the hood is cool. Remove the metal grease filters to get access, then take out the old charcoal filter, noting which way it faces and how it locks in. Fit the new filter the same way and refit the grease filters. If your hood has a filter reminder, reset it as shown in the manual.

Questions about this part

Do I need a charcoal filter if my rangehood is ducted outside?

No. Charcoal filters are only needed when the hood recirculates air back into the kitchen. A ducted hood vents the fumes outdoors and relies on its grease filters alone, so check how your hood is installed before ordering.
