CC41800 is a universal gas thermocouple with a long 1800mm lead. It's a generic replacement for gas appliances where the original thermocouple has failed and the run from the pilot burner to the gas control needs plenty of length. The extra reach suits installations where the valve sits a long way from the flame. Check the connection at the gas valve and the mounting at the pilot against the old part before it goes in.
Pilot won't stay lit? Check the thermocouple
A thermocouple is the flame safety device on many gas appliances. Its tip sits in the pilot flame and produces a tiny voltage that holds the gas valve open. Once the tip burns away or the junction weakens, that voltage drops and the valve shuts, so the pilot lights while the button is held in and goes out when it's released. Soot on the tip, a tip bent out of the flame or a loose connection at the valve can cause the same symptom, so rule those out first.

Installation and safety
In Australia, work on gas appliances must be carried out by a licensed gas fitter. Turn off the gas supply and power before starting. The tip needs to sit in the pilot flame exactly where the original did, and the lead should be routed clear of hot surfaces with no sharp kinks. Tighten the valve connection correctly, then leak test and confirm the pilot holds.

Can I cut or coil a long thermocouple to fit?
Never cut a thermocouple, as the lead is a sealed sensing circuit. Spare length can be looped in a loose, wide coil away from the burner. If your run is much shorter than 1800mm, a shorter universal thermocouple will usually be a neater fit.
