Product details
A sagging or loose oven door on an Ariston or Whirlpool usually points to a worn hinge. This is an OEM single hinge made to the original equipment specification, and it replaces Ariston number C00083113 and Whirlpool number 482000027588. It suits the CP059MDAUSS, CP859MTAUS, CP859MTXAUSS and MB91AUS, along with XF905, XF995 and XF996.3 ovens.
Ariston oven door hinge problems
Each side of the oven door rides on a hinge with a strong spring inside, which balances the weight of the door and pulls it closed against the seal. When a spring weakens or the hinge arm wears, the door can drop open on its own, fail to close fully, or sit crooked with a gap at one corner. Heat then escapes past the seal, cooking takes longer and the control panel or cabinetry above may get hotter than normal. A broken hinge can also make the door hard to remove for cleaning.

Changing an oven door hinge
Turn the oven off at the wall or isolator and let it cool. Open the door fully and, on many ovens, flip over a locking lever on each hinge before lifting the door away. Take care, as the door is heavy and the glass can break. Keep fingers clear of the hinge spring. Replacing both hinges together usually gives the most even door closure.
Questions about this part
Do I need to replace both hinges?
This listing is for one hinge. If the other side is also loose or weak, replacing both at the same time keeps the door closing evenly and saves pulling it off twice.
