Product details
Oven fan running but the food stays raw in the middle? B606045 is a generic 3000W fan forced element made to suit Baumatic and La Germania ovens. It's the heating ring that sits behind the fan cover at the back of the cavity. Models on file include BAF91EG, BAF92EG, GEF90EG, LUEP51-90-S and LUE01-90-SLP. The part also cross references to 606043, so check both numbers against your old element.
Signs the fan forced element in your Baumatic oven has failed
In fan forced mode, this element heats the air that the rear fan pushes around the cavity. When it fails, the fan still spins and the light stays on, but the oven takes forever to warm up or never gets past lukewarm. Other clues include the safety switch tripping the moment you select fan forced, a visible break or blister on the element, or uneven baking where the outside cooks and the middle doesn't. A multimeter across the two terminals will confirm it, as an open circuit means the element is finished.

Swapping the fan element
Isolate the oven at the switchboard before you start. Most built-in ovens are hard-wired, so the work should be done by a licensed electrician. Take off the rear fan cover, then photograph the wiring before pulling the terminals. Fit the new element with the same screws, refit the cover and run the oven on fan forced for twenty minutes. A little smoke on the first heat is normal.
Questions about this part
Is B606045 the same as part 606043?
606043 is listed as a cross reference for B606045, so an element marked with either number should match. If the number on your old element has worn off, compare the shape, the terminal positions and the 3000W rating, or send your model number through the parts enquiry form.
