Euro rangehood buttons not working?
Every press of the rangehood controls goes through this switch board, which tells the hood which fan speed to run and when to turn the lights on or off. Steam, grease and heat from cooking slowly work their way into the switches and circuit tracks. Typical symptoms are buttons that need several presses, a fan stuck on one speed or refusing to stop, lights that won't switch, flickering indicator lights, or no response from the controls at all. If the motor and lights work when tested directly, the switch board is the likely cause.

Fitting the switch board
Switch the rangehood off at the wall or isolate the circuit. Many rangehoods are hard-wired, and in that case a licensed electrician should do the work. Remove the grease filters to reach the control area and photograph every plug and wire before disconnecting the old board. Fit the new one the same way round, refit the cover and test each button.
