Installing the duct

Isolate power to the rangehood or fan before working near it. Measure the run and keep it as short and straight as you can, using gentle bends rather than tight ones. Slide each end over its spigot, secure it with a duct clamp and seal the joints with aluminium foil tape. Support long runs so they can't sag, and make sure the duct vents outside rather than into the roof space.
