It moves an on screen pointer, scrolls through menus and apps, and on supported TVs handles voice commands. When it fails you might find the pointer won't appear, buttons respond only up close or not at all, or the remote stops pairing with the TV. Before ordering, fit fresh batteries, clean the battery contacts and try pairing it again using the steps in your TV's manual. If it still won't respond, or the case is cracked or the buttons are worn out, a replacement is the fix.

Part details

Genuine LG Magic Remote, part AKB75855505

Also numbered AKB75855501 and AN-MR650A

Listed for LG W9, E9, C9 and B9 series TVs

Listed for SM81 to SM99 series TVs

Listed for UM6970 to UM80 series TVs

Pairing the new remote

Put the batteries in, switch the TV on and point the remote at the screen.
