Generic remotes often cover only the basic buttons, so a genuine replacement is the simplest way to get full control back. Common reasons to replace one include buttons that have stopped responding, a cracked case, liquid damage, corroded battery contacts or a remote that has simply gone missing. Before ordering, fit fresh batteries and check the terminals are clean, as flat or leaking cells cause plenty of remote faults.

Part details

Genuine LG part AKB75855501

Magic Remote control for LG TVs

Also known as AKB75855505, cross referenced to AKB76039704

Listed for LG C9, B9, E9 and W9 series

Listed for LG SM81 to SM99 and UM6970 to UM80 series

Setting up the new remote

Fit fresh batteries before anything else. Have the TV switched on and sit close to it while you pair. If it won't respond, take the batteries out, wait a moment and start again.

Questions about this part

Where do I find my LG TV model number?

Look for the label on the back of the TV, usually near the connections.
