LG makes many remotes that look similar but are set up for different products and features, so matching the AKB number is the surest way to get one that works. The number is usually on a label on the back of the remote or under the battery cover. If yours reads AKB74855330, this is a direct replacement.

Replacing a lost or faulty LG remote

The remote is often the only practical way to change modes, timers and settings, so a dead one can leave you stuck with whatever the unit was last set to. Typical failures are buttons that stop responding, a screen that fades or goes blank on remotes that have one, a cracked case after a drop, or damage from leaking batteries. Try fresh batteries and clean the contacts first. If it's still unresponsive, or the remote is missing altogether, a genuine LG replacement with the same part number is the answer.

Part details

Genuine LG part AKB74855330

Complete remote controller assembly

Direct replacement for a remote carrying the same AKB number

Setting up the replacement

Fit new batteries, following the polarity marks inside the compartment. Stand within a few metres of the LG unit and press power to test it. Some remotes have a reset button or need settings such as the clock entered after new batteries go in, so check your owner's manual. Keep the old remote until the new one is confirmed working.

Questions about this part

I've lost the old remote.
