AK80051D2 Genuine Large Oven Door Hinges for Baumatic Ovens, Main Oven Cavity Door Hinge Replacement

Part AK80051D2 covers the door hinges for the large oven on a Baumatic appliance in the AK800 parts series. Parts in this series are split between the small and large oven doors, with separate seals for each, so make sure the hinge you're after is from the larger door. Hinges can be supplied singly or as a pair, so check with us before ordering if you need both sides. No compatible models are on file yet.

Signs the large oven door hinges are worn

The hinges carry the weight of the door and use springs to balance it as it opens and closes. When the springs weaken or the arms wear, the door may drop open heavily, refuse to stay part open, or close with a gap along one side. That gap lets heat out, so food takes longer, the oven front runs hot and energy is wasted. A worn door seal can cause some of the same symptoms, so look at the hinges first if the door sits crooked or feels loose.

Replacing the oven door hinges

Switch the oven off at the wall and wait until it's cold. Open the door fully, lock the hinge clips if your oven has them, then lift the door up and out at an angle. Doors are heavy and the glass is fragile, so have a second person help. Fit the new hinges into the slots, refit the door and make sure it closes evenly before using the oven again.
