LG washing machine not filling? The inlet valve could be the fault
When the control calls for water, it energises one or more coils on the valve, which open and let water through to the detergent drawer and drum. The separate outlets send water down different paths depending on the stage of the wash. A failed coil or blocked inlet screen leads to a machine that will not fill, fills very slowly, misses the detergent or softener, or shows a fill error. A valve that sticks open is worse, letting water keep running in even with the machine off.

Changing the inlet valve
Turn both taps off, unplug the washer and disconnect the fill hoses at the back. The valve is mounted at the back where the hoses connect, usually reached by taking the top panel off. Label or photograph each wire and internal hose before removing them, as the outlets must go back in the same order. Fit the new valve, reconnect everything, turn the taps on and check for leaks before running a wash.
