When an LG top loader won't fill, fills slowly or keeps running water when it's switched off, the inlet valve is often to blame. AJU74972401 is LG's genuine 4 way inlet valve for top load washers, on file for the WTG8532WH, WTG9032WF and WTG9530S, the WTG9532VH and WTG9532WH, and the T1532AFPS5. It mounts at the back of the machine where the hot and cold hoses connect.
LG washer not filling or overfilling
The inlet valve is a set of electrically operated solenoids that open on command from the control board to let hot and cold water in. A 4 way valve has several outlets, so the washer can send water along different paths, such as through the detergent and softener areas. Faults include no water entering the tub, a weak trickle, water that only comes in hot or only cold, or a tub that keeps filling with the power off. Blocked inlet screens can mimic a failed valve, so check them before ordering.

Changing the inlet valve
Turn off both taps and unplug the washer, then disconnect the inlet hoses. Label each wire and small hose on the valve before you remove anything, as the outlets must go back in the same order. Fit the new valve, reconnect everything, and turn the taps on slowly while you check every joint for drips. Run a short fill to test hot and cold.
Questions about this part
Can I clean the old valve instead of replacing it?
If the only problem is a blocked filter screen at the hose inlet, cleaning it may restore the flow. If the coils are open circuit, the valve body leaks or it won't shut off, the valve needs replacing.
