Part AJU72912230 is LG's genuine water inlet valve assembly for four top load washing machines, the WTG8521, WTG9020V, WT-H800 and WT-H9556. The valve controls the water coming in from your taps and only lets it into the machine when the control asks for it. Order it when the washer won't fill, fills very slowly, or lets water in while it is switched off.

LG top loader not filling or filling slowly

Each solenoid on the valve is a small electromagnet that pulls the valve open when the washer's control board sends power, then lets it close again. If a coil burns out, that supply stops, so the washer won't fill, fills only with hot or only with cold, or stops with an inlet error. Debris caught inside can stop the valve sealing, letting water creep into the tub while the machine is off. Before replacing the valve, check that both taps are fully on, the hoses aren't kinked, and the small screens in the valve inlets are clean.

Fitting the LG inlet valve

Turn off the taps, unplug the washer, and disconnect the inlet hoses from the back. Remove the panel covering the valve, then photograph the wiring plugs and internal hoses before releasing them. Fit the new valve, reconnect everything in the same positions, and tighten the inlet hoses with their washers in place. Run a fill and watch the connections for leaks.
