LG washer not filling? Check the inlet valve
The control board energises each solenoid on the inlet valve to open it, letting tap water flow to the detergent dispenser or straight into the tub. When a coil fails or the valve sticks, the washer may sit idle without filling, show a water inlet error, fill very slowly, or let water trickle in even when switched off. A blocked screen filter in the valve inlet can give the same symptoms, so check and clean it first, along with the taps and hoses. A multimeter test across the coil terminals confirms whether a coil has failed.

Fitting the new inlet valve
Turn off both taps, unplug the washer and unscrew the hoses at the back. Remove the top or rear cover to reach the valve. Label each wire and outlet hose against the valve body before taking anything off, as the outlets feed different parts of the dispenser. Fit the new valve, refit the inlet hoses with their washers, and turn the taps on slowly to check for leaks.
