Product details
AHL73855301 is a genuine LG rotor assembly. On LG direct drive washing machines the rotor is the round, magnet-lined outer part of the motor, attached to the drum shaft, which spins around the fixed stator. We don't hold a model list for this number, and LG rotors vary in size and fixing, so check AHL73855301 in the parts list for your washer before ordering.
LG direct drive washer noisy or not spinning?
The rotor and stator together make up LG's direct drive motor, with no belt in between. When the rotor is damaged you might hear loud knocking or grinding during spin, see the drum fail to turn, or get motor related error codes. Magnets can come loose or crack, and the hub that grips the shaft can wear so the rotor slips. A loose rotor bolt can make similar noises, so check it first. Worn bearings also cause noise, so make sure the drum turns smoothly by hand before deciding.

Fitting the new rotor
Unplug the washer and remove the rear or bottom panel to reach the motor, depending on the model. Undo the centre bolt and pull the rotor straight off the shaft, keeping the magnets away from metal filings. Fit the new rotor, tighten the bolt firmly, and turn the drum by hand to check it spins freely before running a spin test.
Questions about this part
Do I need to replace the stator as well?
Only if it's damaged too. Check the stator windings for burn marks and the plastic for cracks. If it looks and tests fine, the new rotor can be fitted on its own.
