Latches vary a lot between appliances in their mounting, hook and any switch contacts, so a close match matters. Our listing doesn't say which LG appliance it belongs to. Compare the number and shape with your old latch, or send us your LG model number and we'll check before you buy.

When an LG latch needs replacing

A latch holds a door, lid or panel closed and lets it release when you open it. With constant use the catch can wear, the spring can weaken or a plastic hook can snap off. The usual signs are a door that won't stay shut, one that springs open during use, a catch you can't engage, or an appliance that won't start because it can't sense the door is closed. Check the striker or hook on the door as well, since a worn striker gives the same symptoms.

Part details

Genuine LG part AGM76149901

Latch, service parts assembly

Check fit against your old latch or model number

Swapping the latch

Unplug the appliance before removing any panel, as latches on washers, dryers and dishwashers often carry wiring. Photograph the wires on the old latch if it has any. Fit the new latch in the same position, tighten its screws evenly and close the door gently to check it catches and releases cleanly.
