LG dryer thumping, squeaking or rumbling
The drum in these dryers rides on rollers, which take its weight and let it spin smoothly. Over time the roller tyres wear flat or crack and the bearings inside dry out. The result is a rhythmic thump, a squeal, or a deep rumble that gets louder as the dryer runs. Worn rollers can also make the drum drag, putting extra strain on the belt and motor. Changing the drum rollers
Unplug the dryer before you start. Fitting rollers means removing the front or rear panels and lifting the drum out, so take photos as you go and keep screws sorted. Clean lint from the roller shafts and cabinet, fit both new rollers, and check the belt for cracks or fraying while the drum is out. Spin the drum by hand before refitting the panels.
