Signs your LG washer pulsator is worn or broken
The pulsator is the shaped plate in the bottom of the drum. As it rotates back and forth, it drives the water and clothes around so the load turns over and gets clean. A cracked or broken pulsator can snag and tear clothing, make grinding or clunking noises, or leave the load sitting still while the motor runs. If the pulsator turns loosely without gripping, the drive splines may be stripped, either in the pulsator or on the shaft. Lift the clothes out and look for cracks, missing fins or sharp edges.

Replacing the pulsator
Unplug the machine and empty the drum. Most pulsators are held by a cap and a central bolt, so have the right socket ready, and a stubborn one may need gentle levering from opposite sides. Clean any lint and grit from the shaft and drum base before seating the new pulsator, then tighten the bolt firmly and run a short wash to check it turns smoothly.
