LG A9 vacuum not picking up from the floor?

The power drive head is the motorised nozzle at the bottom of the wand. A small motor inside turns the brush roll so it lifts dust and hair from carpet and hard floors while the main unit supplies the suction. When it fails, the vacuum still runs but the brush stops spinning, turns slowly or stalls under load, and pickup on carpet falls away badly. Other signs include a hot smell from the head, a loud rattle, broken wheels or a cracked housing that lets air leak in. Dirty or damaged contacts where the head joins the wand can also stop the roller turning.

Fitting the new floor head

Switch the vacuum off before changing any attachment. Press the release on the wand, pull the old head away and push the new one on until it clicks firmly into place. Make sure the electrical contacts are clean and dry. Run the vacuum briefly with the head lifted to confirm the roller spins, and cut away hair wound around the brush from time to time so the motor isn't strained.
