LG fridge not making ice? The ice maker assembly may be at fault
The ice maker fills a tray with water, waits for it to freeze, then ejects the cubes into the bucket below. The assembly holds the drive and sensing parts that run each of those steps, and a fault in any of them stops production. Typical signs are no ice at all, very small or hollow cubes, a tray that stays full of frozen water, or cubes that never drop into the bucket. Before replacing it, check that the water supply, filter and inlet line aren't blocked or frozen, since those cause the same symptoms.

Before you fit the ice maker
Unplug the fridge or switch it off at the wall, and turn off the water supply to the fridge. Remove any ice and let frozen water in the old tray thaw so the unit can be lifted out cleanly. Photograph the wiring plug and mounting screws before you disconnect anything. Once fitted, restore power and water, then give the fridge a full day to cool down and start making ice before judging it.
