For LG GF-L570MBL, GF-L570PL and GF-V570MBL fridges, AEQ73110214 is the genuine ice maker assembly kit. This is the older version that comes with a sensor attached. LG's newer version, AEQ73110222, does not carry the sensor, so look at the unit in your fridge before ordering and choose the type that matches what is already there.
When an LG ice maker stops producing ice
Inside the freezer, the ice maker takes in water, freezes it in a moulded tray and then ejects the cubes into the storage bin. On this older type, a sensor mounted on the unit forms part of that control loop. Failure shows up as an empty bin, cubes frozen together in the tray, water overflowing and turning into a sheet of ice, or a unit that clicks or grinds without releasing anything. Check that water is actually reaching the tray before blaming the ice maker.

Choosing the right type and fitting it
Pull the ice bin out and look at the old unit. If a sensor is fitted to it, this is the matching kit. Power off at the wall before touching any wiring. Note the plug and lead positions, remove the mounting screws, swap the assembly over and reconnect everything as it was. Allow the freezer to cool fully before expecting ice, and discard the first few trays.
