LG top loader leaking or draining slowly? Check the hose

Once the wash and rinse water is pumped out, it travels through this hose to the standpipe or laundry trough. Because it lives behind the machine, it gets pushed against walls, bent tight and knocked whenever the washer is moved. Small splits often leak only while the pump is running, which leaves a puddle at the back that is easy to blame on something else. A crushed or kinked hose slows draining, can bring up a drain error and may leave water in the bowl at the end of a cycle. Old rubber can also go hard and crack near the clamp.

Changing the drain hose

Unplug the washer and turn off both taps. Drain any water left in the tub, then put a tray under the back of the machine, as the hose will still hold some. Note how the hose is clipped along the cabinet, release the clamp at the pump outlet and fit the new hose the same way. Hook the outlet end securely into the standpipe without pushing it in too deep, then run a rinse and check every joint.
