LG uses lamp holders in fridges, microwaves, ovens and other products, and our records don't tell us which one this belongs to. Holders differ in size, shape and connector, so match AEJ74859416 with the number on your old holder or the LG parts list for your model before ordering.

Light not working? Check the holder as well as the globe

When an appliance light goes out, most people replace the globe or LED first. If the new light still doesn't work, or works only when the holder is wiggled, the holder itself may be at fault. Heat, moisture and age cause melted or brittle plastic, corroded contacts, loose terminals and broken mounting clips. A holder that has scorched or discoloured should be replaced promptly, as poor contact creates heat. Also check the door switch, since a stuck switch can keep the light off even with a good holder.

Part details

Genuine LG part number AEJ74859416

LG description: Holder Assembly, Lamp

Supplied as a complete holder assembly

Fitting the lamp holder

Unplug the appliance before you start, as lamp holders in many appliances run on mains voltage. Let any hot globe cool. Photograph the wiring and how the holder clips in, then transfer the connections one wire at a time. Make sure the holder sits firmly and any cover seals properly, then restore power and test the light.

Questions about this part

Does AEJ74859416 come with a globe or LED?

Our record lists it as LG's lamp holder assembly only, without saying whether a light is included.
