On LG split system air conditioners, a fan grille is the guard fitted across the front of the outdoor unit, in front of the propeller fan, and that's how we've listed this part. LG makes several grilles in the AEB754849 series that differ in size and style, and our stock record doesn't confirm the unit or models. Compare AEB75484902 with your old grille or your outdoor unit's parts list before you order.

Why the outdoor fan guard matters

The grille keeps hands, pets, sticks and garden tools away from a blade that spins at speed, and it stops debris being drawn into the fan. Grilles break from mower and whipper snipper strikes, falling branches, hail, and years of UV exposure that turns the plastic brittle. Once a section is missing, the blade is exposed and anything that gets in can crack it, which leads to vibration, noise and a much bigger repair bill. Replacing a broken guard promptly is a cheap way to protect the fan and keep the unit safe.

Part details

Genuine LG part number AEB75484902

LG description: Grille Assembly, Fan

Fan guard grille for an LG air conditioner

Fitting the fan guard

Switch the system off and isolate the outdoor unit at its isolator switch, then wait for the fan to stop. Undo the grille screws or clips, keeping the fixings, and fit the new grille the same way up. Check the blade doesn't touch the grille when turned by hand before restoring power. Leave any electrical work to a licensed electrician.

Questions about this part

Is AEB75484902 the same as the other AEB754849 grilles?

Don't assume it is. LG gives each grille in this series its own number, as they're made for different units.
