Product details

ADX72930436 is a genuine LG door gasket assembly for the freezer compartment of an LG fridge freezer. The gasket is the flexible magnetic seal around the edge of the door that closes against the cabinet. If yours is torn, flattened or won't grip, cold air leaks out and frost builds up. Match ADX72930436 to the parts list for your model before ordering, as LG uses different gaskets for each door.

Signs your LG freezer door seal is leaking

A freezer door gasket keeps cold in and warm, moist air out. When it fails, moisture gets in and turns to frost, often around the door opening or on the food nearest the seal. Other signs include ice build-up on the back wall, a freezer that runs almost non-stop, a door that doesn't pull shut, or condensation on the cabinet front. Try the paper test. Close the door on a strip of paper at several points and pull it out. If it slides free with no resistance, the seal isn't gripping there.

Fitting the freezer door gasket

Turn the fridge off at the wall. Note how the old gasket attaches, as LG gaskets either push into a channel or are held by the door liner. Remove it and clean the channel. A new gasket can be creased from packing, so warm it gently with a hair dryer on low to soften it before fitting. Press it in evenly around the door, then repeat the paper test at the corners.

Questions about this part

Will this gasket fit the fridge door too?

ADX72930436 is described as the freezer door gasket. Fridge and freezer doors are often different sizes, so the fresh food door usually needs its own gasket number. Check both on the parts list for your LG model, or send us the model number through the parts enquiry form.
