Product details
LG GB-455 series fridges, including the GB-455BLE, GB-455MBL, GB-455PL and GB-455WL, use control case assembly ABQ76880302, and so does the GC-B529NLCF. This genuine LG part combines the air baffle with the control housing inside the fridge. It's the right part when the case is cracked, broken around its clips or damaged during cleaning.
What the LG fridge control case and air baffle do
Cold air from the freezer section enters the fresh food compartment through a baffle, which directs and spreads the airflow. On these LG models, the baffle forms one assembly with the control case. If the case is cracked or a section has broken off, cold air can be sent in the wrong direction, leading to uneven temperatures, frozen food near the vents or warm spots on the shelves. Damaged clips can also leave the case loose or rattling.

Changing the control case
Unplug the fridge and move food out of the way. Remove the shelves near the case, then release the screws or clips holding it and ease it forward to reach any plugs behind it. Transfer any parts from the old case that aren't on the new one, reconnect the wiring and clip the case firmly in place before restoring power.
