Fitting the knob

Make sure the appliance is off and cool, and on gas models that every burner is off. Pull the old knob straight off the shaft without twisting. Line up the flat or notch in the new knob with the shaft and push it on firmly until it sits against the panel. Turn it through each position and check it returns cleanly to off.
