A141175 is a genuine Ariston upper grill element, the element fixed to the roof of the oven cavity that browns and grills food from above. In many ovens the same element also provides top heat for conventional cooking. Ariston oven grill not working?

A dead grill element is easy to spot. The grill setting gives no heat or glow, food won't brown on top, and conventional baking may come out pale on top while the bottom cooks normally. Elements often fail with a visible break, a bulge or a bright spot that burned through, and some trip the safety switch at the moment they fail. The element can be tested for continuity with the power isolated. If the element is fine, the selector switch or thermostat may be at fault.

Replacing the grill element

Isolate the oven at the circuit breaker before you begin, and remember a hard-wired oven needs a licensed electrician in Australia. Access is usually from inside the top of the cavity or by sliding the oven out, depending on the design. Record the wire positions with a photo, transfer them to the new element, secure it and test on the grill setting.
