Why an ILVE oven door drops or won't close
Each side of the oven door rides on a spring-loaded hinge that carries the door's weight and pulls it shut against the seal. ILVE doors are large and heavy, and after years of opening and closing the springs weaken or the hinge arms wear. The usual signs are a door that falls open instead of easing down, one corner sitting higher than the other, a gap along the top of the door, or heat and steam escaping onto the control panel. A tired hinge also loads up the seal and glass, so it's worth sorting early.

Changing ILVE oven hinges
Switch the oven off at the isolator and let it cool completely. Open the door fully, flip the locking levers on both hinges, then lift the door up and out at an angle. Undo the hinge fixings, fit the new hinge in the same position and refit the door before releasing the levers. Doing both sides together keeps the door square. Rest the door flat on a towel while it's off.

No. A02845 is an OEM aftermarket hinge made to suit ILVE part A/028/45. It is built to the original specification so it fits the same mounting points, but it is not made by ILVE.
Should I replace both hinges?
It's good practice. The second hinge has done just as many cycles as the worn one and usually isn't far behind. Fitting both keeps the door sitting square and the seal closing evenly.
