Product details

A/401/14 is the genuine ILVE ignition micro switch in a daisy chain layout, used on the gas taps of ILVE cookers. It's listed for P90 series cookers such as the P90CCMP, P90FMP, P90FNMP-A and P90WVG/1, along with the PD90FNMP, PD90WMP/1, NT906WMP, 800WMP/1 and PTW1006MP-1. You'll also find it under 3070012 and EA4330002000000.

ILVE cooktop clicking nonstop or not sparking

Each gas tap has a micro switch that closes when you push the knob in, telling the spark generator to fire the igniters. Daisy chain switches are wired in a line along one harness. Moisture from boil overs and cleaning sprays is their main enemy. A switch that stays closed makes the igniters click continuously even with every knob off, while one that won't close leaves that burner with no spark. Because the switches share a harness, one faulty switch can affect the whole cooktop.

Replacing ignition switches

Turn off the power at the wall and close the gas supply before starting. The knobs and control panel come off to reach the switches on the gas tap spindles. Photograph the harness routing first. Work on a gas cooker should be done by a licensed gas fitter, who can also check the burners and ignition once it's reassembled.

Questions about this part

My cooktop keeps clicking after cleaning, do I need this part?

Not always. Water in a switch can cause clicking that stops once it dries out, so leave the cooker switched off at the wall for a day or two. If the clicking keeps coming back or never stops, the micro switch has probably failed.
