ILVE oven door sagging, crooked or not closing?
Each ILVE door hangs on two hinges with internal springs that balance its weight and pull it firmly against the door seal. When a spring weakens or a hinge arm bends, the door may fall open on its own, stop at an angle, rub on one side or leave a gap along the top. Hot air then escapes past the seal, the oven takes longer to heat and the control panel above can run warm. A hinge that grinds, clicks or feels loose as you open the door is usually on its way out.

Swapping an ILVE door hinge
Switch the oven off at the wall and make sure it's cool. Open the door all the way, lift the small locking levers over the hinge arms, then close the door about a third of the way and lift it up and out. Rest it on a towel. Change the hinge, rehang the door with both arms fully seated, drop the levers back down and check the door closes square.

Do I need one hinge or two?
Each unit ordered is one hinge. If both sides feel loose or the door sits unevenly, order two so the spring tension matches on each side. Replacing only the damaged hinge is fine when the other one is still firm.
