Product details
9FX003023 is a genuine Glen Dimplex selector switch, the rotary switch behind the oven's function knob that chooses which elements, fan and light run for each setting. Other parts in the 9FX range include oven fan motors, door seals and hinges. Selector switches differ in the number of positions and the wiring layout, so check 9FX003023 on your old switch or your parts list before ordering.
Oven only working on some functions?
Each position of the function knob closes a different set of contacts inside the selector switch. Over years of heat and use, those contacts can burn, pit or stick, and the terminals can loosen and overheat. Symptoms include an oven that heats on some settings but not others, a fan or light that stays on when it shouldn't, the grill working while the bake element doesn't, or a knob that clicks loosely without changing anything. Scorch marks or melted plastic around the switch terminals confirm it.

- Oven function selector switch
- Positions and wiring vary, match your number
- Hard-wired ovens need a licensed electrician
Fitting the selector switch
Isolate the oven at the switchboard and have a licensed electrician carry out the work. Take clear photos of every wire on the old switch, ideally labelling them, before anything is disconnected. Fit the new switch with the shaft oriented the same way so the knob points correctly, transfer the wires terminal by terminal, then test each function once power is restored.
Questions about this part
My oven fan runs but nothing heats. Is it the selector switch?
It could be, but a failed element, a tripped safety cutout or a timer left in auto mode can give the same symptom. Have those checked first. If they're fine and power isn't reaching the elements from the switch, the selector switch is the likely fault.
