This generic filter is an aftermarket replacement for Dyson part 969082-01, the filter used in Dyson V10 stick vacuums. It isn't made by Dyson, but it's built to fit the V10 filter position and do the same job. Dyson V11 models take a different filter, so double check that your vacuum is a V10 before ordering. The model name is marked on the machine itself.
Dyson V10 losing suction? Check the filter
The filter catches fine dust after the cyclone has spun out the larger debris, protecting the motor and keeping the exhaust air cleaner. As it clogs, airflow drops, so you'll notice weaker suction, a vacuum that pulses or cuts out, a hot motor area or a stale smell from the exhaust. A filter that's torn, warped or still clogged after cleaning needs replacing. Running the vacuum with a damaged filter lets dust reach the motor and can shorten its life.

Changing the V10 filter
Switch the vacuum off and take it off the charger. Twist the filter at the back of the machine anticlockwise and pull it out, then tap loose dust off the old one over a bin. Fit the new filter and turn it clockwise until it locks. Only wash a filter if it's marked as washable, and let it dry completely before refitting.
