935970006 is the genuine Smeg hinge receiver, the roller guide in the oven frame that the door hinge arm slides into. One part fits either the left or the right side. A worn receiver can make a perfectly good hinge feel rough or loose.

Smeg oven door grinding, dropping or sitting crooked?

When the door opens and closes, each hinge arm rolls in and out of a receiver mounted in the oven front. The roller and guide take the load of the door, so over time they wear, crack or lose their roller. Signs include a grinding or crunching feel as the door moves, a door that drops at one corner, rubs the frame or won't close flush, and heat escaping at the top. Replacing a worn receiver often fixes the problem without needing a whole new hinge.

Fitting the hinge receiver

Isolate the oven at the wall and take the door off before starting. Remove the screws holding the old receiver to its bracket, fit the new one in the same position, and check the hinge arm slides in smoothly. On the SA9066XS, part 814490491 is also needed, and both parts are fitted to the existing bracket, so keep the old bracket.
