Product details
One hinge fits both sides. 931331044 is an OEM oven door hinge made to suit Smeg ovens and cookers, and it can be used on the left or right hand side of the door. Built by an aftermarket maker to the original specification, it's listed for 51 Smeg models. A few of the better known ones are the SA9010X, the C91GMXAT, the OF902XA, the SE900X and the SX91M.
Why oven door hinges wear out
Oven doors are heavy, and every time one opens the hinges take the load while their springs stretch, then pull it closed again. Thousands of cycles plus constant heat eventually weaken the springs and wear the pivots. A worn hinge lets the door fall open with a thump, sit crooked or fail to close tight against the seal, so hot air escapes and the front of the oven runs hotter than it should. Food can also take longer to cook as the oven struggles to hold its temperature.

Swapping the door hinges
Wait until the oven is cold. With the door fully open, lock the hinge levers, lift the door off and set it down on a towel. Unscrew the hinge from the oven front or pull it from its slot, depending on the model, and fit the new one the same way. As this hinge suits either side, two identical hinges will do the pair. Test that the door closes evenly.

Will this hinge fit my Smeg SX91 cooker?
It's listed for several SX91 versions, such as the SX91M, the SX91ME and the SX91VML-5. Check the full model code on your rating plate before ordering, because hinges can change between versions of the same range.
