Fitting the exhaust filter

Unplug the vacuum first. The exhaust filter is usually behind a grille at the rear or side of the body. Open the grille, lift out the old filter and wipe any dust from the housing. Fit the new filter the same way round, with the sealing edge facing the same way as before, and close the grille firmly. Change it whenever it looks grey or clogged.
