These genuine Fisher & Paykel plug pins, part 871123P, come as a pack of two and hold the hinged dairy cover on the fridge door. They suit a large number of E series fridge freezers, from E331T, E381T and E411T top mounts to E406B, E442B and E522B bottom mounts, plus the E413T, E440T and E521T. A missing pin is all it takes for the cover to hang crooked.
Fridge dairy cover hanging loose or falling off?
The dairy compartment is the small covered section in the fridge door where butter and cheese are kept. Its cover pivots on a pair of pins that plug into the compartment at each side. Being small, the pins often break or fall out when the cover is knocked, when the compartment is pulled out for cleaning, or once the plastic gets brittle with age. With one gone, the cover sits crooked, won't stay shut or drops off altogether. Replacing the pins is a far smaller job than buying a whole new compartment.

Refitting the dairy cover
No tools are usually needed. Lift the dairy compartment off the door, line the cover up with its hinge holes, and push a pin into each side until it seats. Check the cover opens and closes freely before you clip the compartment back into place.
