Fitting the new knob
Make sure the oven and cooktop are off and cool. Pull the old knob straight off its shaft rather than levering against the control panel, which scratches easily. Line up the flat on the shaft with the shape inside the new knob and press it on squarely until it's firm. Turn it through its full range to check the markings line up with the settings.
