The feet sit under the pan support and hold it level and clear of the cooktop surface. Check the shape against a remaining foot on your trivet, or look up the number on your parts list, before ordering.

Why trivet feet matter on a gas cooktop

Each pan support rests on small feet rather than directly on the cooktop. They spread the weight of heavy pots, stop the metal trivet scratching or chipping the surface, and keep it at the right height over the burners. When a foot cracks, hardens or falls off, the trivet tips as you slide a pan across, and a wobbly pot over an open flame is a real hazard. Missing feet can also leave marks on enamel, glass or stainless tops that won't polish out.

Part details

Genuine Electrolux part 8583056374009

Also listed as 305637400

Trivet foot for the Westinghouse Forte FC range

Keeps the pan support level and off the cooktop surface

Fitting a new trivet foot

Make sure all burners are off and the trivet is completely cool.
