Electrolux or Westinghouse fridge not making ice?
The ice maker takes water from the fridge's inlet valve, freezes it in a moulded tray, then tips the cubes into the ice bin and starts again. A fault in its drive or controls can stop it filling, leave cubes stuck in the tray, or make it dump partly frozen ice. Ice jammed in the mechanism, overflowing water or a solid sheet of ice in the bin are other warning signs. Fitting the ice maker
Switch the fridge off at the wall, turn off the water supply and empty the ice bin. Remove any covers, unplug the old ice maker's connector and undo its fixings. Fit the new unit, reconnect it and make sure the fill tube lines up with the tray. Once power is back on, give the freezer time to cool and throw out the first few batches of ice.
