8581481820 Genuine Filter 317 x 284mm for Electrolux Group Rangehoods, Replacement Rangehood Filter, Also 148182

Measuring 317 x 284mm, genuine Electrolux filter 8581481820 is also listed under the number 148182. Filters of this kind sit in a rangehood to catch grease and cooking residue before it reaches the fan and ducting. Size is everything with filters and compatible models aren't recorded, so measure your old filter edge to edge and compare it with 317 x 284mm before ordering 8581481820.

When a rangehood filter needs replacing

A rangehood filter traps the grease carried up in cooking steam. Over time it clogs, and a blocked filter cuts airflow so the hood struggles to clear smoke and smells, gets noisier and leaves a film of grease around the kitchen. Metal grease filters can be washed, but they eventually bend, tear or stay sticky however often they're cleaned. Charcoal filters used in recirculating hoods can't be washed back to life and need replacing on a schedule. A damaged or missing filter also lets grease coat the motor, which shortens its life.

Fitting the new filter

Switch the rangehood off and let it cool. Release the old filter using its catch or tab, supporting it so it doesn't drop onto the cooktop. Check the new filter is the same size and faces the same way, then clip it into place until it locks. Run the fan briefly to make sure it sits firm without rattling.
