When the door handle on an Electrolux front loader snaps, you can't get the washing out. This genuine porthole handle lever, part 8581471464017 and also listed as 147146400, is the fix for the EWF1074 and EWF1083, the EWF1282 and EWF12821, and the EWF1481 washers. It is listed for the EWW1273 as well.
Electrolux washer door won't open from the handle
On these machines the handle is built into the door. Pulling it moves a lever that pushes the door hook free of the lock so the door can swing open. That lever takes all the force of every pull, so over the years it can crack at its pivot or the tab that works the hook can wear away. The handle then feels limp or loose and the door stays shut, even though the cycle has ended and the lock has released. A forced handle can also damage the door hook, so check that too.

Fitting the handle lever
Switch the machine off at the wall and make sure the drum is empty of water. To reach the handle, the door normally comes off and its inner and outer rings are separated, so work on a towel to protect the glass. Photograph the lever and any spring before taking them out. Fit the new lever with the spring in the same position, reassemble the door and check it opens and closes cleanly.
