Product details
This Danfoss control thermostat, part 85814114006, is the genuine replacement for a long list of Kelvinator and Westinghouse fridges and freezers. Danfoss identifies it as 077B2061, and it's also listed as 1411400 and 1412424. Models on file include the H150, H210, H320, H500 and H700 ranges, the Westinghouse WCM1500WA up to the WCM7000WA, and fridges such as the FJ303T and FJ383T.
Freezer too cold, too warm or running nonstop?
Inside the control box, the thermostat switches the compressor on and off to hold the temperature set on the dial. Its capillary tube senses the cabinet or evaporator temperature, and as that rises and falls the contacts close and open. Welded contacts keep the compressor running around the clock, so food freezes hard and frost builds fast. Contacts that won't close leave everything silent and warming. A unit that's drifted out of calibration gives temperatures that don't match the dial setting. The compressor and its start relay can produce similar complaints, so check those too.

Changing the thermostat
Unplug the appliance first. Remove the knob and the thermostat cover, then trace the capillary to its sensing point and note exactly how it's clipped or sleeved. Thread the new capillary into the same position, keep bends gentle so it doesn't kink, and transfer the wires to the matching terminals. Run the appliance overnight and check the temperature with a thermometer.
Questions about this part
My freezer model isn't listed, will this thermostat fit?
It may, as Danfoss thermostats were used across many Electrolux group models, but the setting range has to suit the appliance. Send your model number through the parts enquiry form and we'll check it before you order.
