Genuine drive belt 8581333302009 turns the drum on a wide range of Electrolux, Simpson and Westinghouse clothes dryers. It's a 7 rib belt, 1930mm long, marked 7PH1930, and it replaces earlier numbers including 0198300011, 0198300010 and 4055614913. Popular models it fits include the Electrolux EDV605, EDV5051 and EDV6051, Simpson SDV401, SDV501 and SDV601, and the Simpson 39S600M.
Dryer drum not turning? Check the belt
The belt wraps around the outside of the drum and runs over the motor pulley, with an idler pulley keeping it tight. If it snaps, the motor still hums and the dryer may still heat, but the drum sits still and the clothes come out as damp as they went in. A worn belt can also slip, squeal on start-up or leave black rubber dust inside the cabinet. A quick test is to open the door and turn the drum by hand. If it spins freely with no resistance at all, the belt has most likely broken or come off.

Fitting a new dryer belt
Unplug the dryer first. Depending on the model, access is through the front or top panel. Route the new belt around the drum, under the idler pulley and onto the motor pulley, following the same path the old belt ran. Rotate the drum slowly through a couple of turns to check the belt tracks straight before closing up. If the idler wheel is worn or noisy, replace it at the same time.
