The dispenser is the housing behind the drawer, where water flushes detergent and softener into the tub at the right point in the cycle. Being an assembly, it replaces the dispenser unit as a whole rather than one small piece. Dispensers vary by model, so check the number on your parts list.

Washer not taking in detergent or leaking at the drawer

Each wash, the inlet valve sends water through the dispenser, flushing powder or liquid from its compartment down into the tub. Over time the housing can crack, its water channels can clog with hardened detergent and mould, or the hose connections can leak. Signs include powder left in the drawer after a wash, water dripping from the front of the drawer, softener going in too early, or leaks on top of the cabinet. If cleaning doesn't clear the problem, a new assembly restores proper flushing.

Part details

Genuine Electrolux part 8581327300456

Detergent dispenser assembly

For Electrolux group front load washing machines

Model fit not on file, match the number

Changing the dispenser assembly

Disconnect the power and shut off the hot and cold taps.
