Plan this as part of a bearing job. Unplug the machine, turn off the taps and strip it down until the tub is out and apart. Note which way the old seal faces before removing it, clean the housing back to bare metal, then press the new seal in evenly with a suitable driver. A thin smear of waterproof grease on the lip helps it bed in on the shaft.
