No heat in fan bake mode
Behind the rear cover of the oven, this element forms a ring around the fan blade. Select a fan function and the blade pushes air through the glowing coil and back out into the cavity, which is how fan forced cooking gets even heat on every shelf. If the element goes open circuit, the fan keeps spinning and the light stays on, yet the temperature barely climbs. Sometimes the fault is easy to spot as a split or blistered section of sheath. Other times the only clue is the safety switch tripping the moment fan bake is chosen.

Fitting the fan element kit
Isolate the oven at the switchboard and let it cool. Remove the shelves and the rear fan cover, then undo the screws holding the element to the back wall. The terminals connect from behind, so the oven usually needs to come out of its cavity. Take a photo of the wiring before disconnecting it. Because most ovens are hard-wired, a licensed electrician should reconnect the supply. Expect a little smoke on the first heat-up.
