Dishwasher not draining or leaking from the drain hose?
The drain hose carries waste water from the pump out to the sink trap or standpipe. Because it runs behind the appliance, it's easy to kink when the machine is pushed back, and older hoses can split or perish, especially near the cuffs. A kinked or blocked hose leaves water sitting in the bottom of a dishwasher or stops a washer draining before the spin. A split shows up as water pooling under the bench or behind the machine during the drain cycle. If the pump runs but water barely moves, check the hose for blockages before replacing the pump.

Fitting the new drain hose
Switch the appliance off at the wall and turn off the taps. Pull the machine out and have a bucket and towels ready, as the old hose will hold some water. Note how the old hose is routed and where it's clamped, then fit the new one the same way with secure clamps at each cuff. Keep a high loop in the hose so waste water can't run back, and check for kinks before pushing the machine home.
